We know this is a very difficult time for many people and we are responding to calls and emails, although it may take us a bit longer than usual. If you are suffering domestic violence or rape please call the police if it’s an emergency on 999.  You can call the 24-hour Domestic Violence helpline on 0808 2000 247 for help with urgent accommodation and other issues.

Come and volunteer with us

Nearly all our work is done by volunteers. People come in to help most weekdays and occasional evenings. You could help with things like: internet research and newspaper clippings; help a woman type a summary of her case so that appropriate help can be sought; contact people who have called us out of hours; join a rota to keep in touch with women who have been detained in Yarl's Wood Immigration Removal Centre, to offer them support and info about their rights. Appropriate training and supervision is provided.

We are glad to hear from journalists. To contact us, please email or send a message on twitter @AgainstRape, telling us what your story is about, what you need from us and what your deadline is, as well as how best to contact you. Please note we are not an agency with a 24/7 press department, but can normally respond during office hours. Alternatively journalists are welcome to browse our Latest News and Campaigns pages and take a quote from documents we have written there.
